Sepia-toned colors of a bygone sunset pour over Rig and Rex. They sit, maybe reminiscing, contemplating tomorrow’s mysteries, hoping, dreaming and sharing. Maybe they just sit.
Symbols of the American past and pieces of their own physical, mental and spiritual journeys hang around them. This painting is my attempt to capture a private moment among the ape brothers that reflects the silent bond we are sometimes fortunate to share with another person.
Words may be voiced out loud and thoughts expressed, but the connection, the kindred understanding remains unspoken.
