This triptych is a contemplation of memory, the different phases of our lives and the effort to appreciate the time we have.
The young Rig stands at the left full of energy, optimism and wonder. Hopeful, he gazes towards the future, not yet burdened.
In the center, Rig stands in the present, more concerned and aware of time itself. He is in the very process of building his future.
Finally, on the right we see a wise and aged Rig, lines of experience carved into his face. He is finished carrying the burdens of the past and has chosen to reject his regrets. He waits, pondering his life in a moment of introspection.
