“Look how good I’m doing. Look how much I’m worth. I just made the grade. I’ve just made a million and I’ve got famous friends. Did you see where I traveled this week. Did you see the clothes I wear?”
Behind the bright shine, underneath the show reel is a mistake-maker, an ashtray heart, a broken dream, and a kid who still wonders at the world. Shine in spite of the flaws. Shine because you don’t know it all or have it all. Shine because you’re forgiven, not because you’re perfect. We spray paint our dirt with fools gold. We cover our hurts with highlights.
